Today’s economic crisis, driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures, poses significant challenges for state budget-makers. This webinar, led by health care financing expert Dr. Adam Wilk, will discuss those challenges in the context of school and school district leaders’ efforts to finance school mental health programs. Leaders must look for opportunities to sustain these programs using new funding (e.g., federal) sources and, when possible, anticipate which previously counted-on funding sources may see the largest cuts.
Adam Wilk is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. He is a health economist and health services researcher, conducting research on access to care for Medicaid-enrolled and underserved populations, state and federal policymaking and financing of health care services, and providers’ decision-making and operations in the context of managing the needs of patients with complex, chronic illnesses.
